About Suitable Pictures
Alan McAlex, the founder of Suitable Pictures, established the company in 2019 with the aim to develop premium, high-quality, original content that could also achieve commercial success.

Suitable Picture’s first foray into episodic production was ‘A Suitable Boy’ directed by Mira Nair and premiered on Netflix. Alan was the co-producer with BBC Studios. The next and most recent project was ‘Poacher’ – a crime drama miniseries created by Richie Mehta that premiered at 2023 Sundance Film Festival and was released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year.
Additionally, two films that Suitable Pictures completed production on last year premiered at Cannes in 2024. ‘Santosh’, in the Un Certain Regard category produced by BBC and BFI along with ‘Sister Midnight’ at Director’s Fortnight produced by Film4 and BFI. Most recently, the Manipuri film titled ‘Boong’ is set to premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

Furthermore, Alan launched Production Scope for the sole purpose of rendering premium-grade production services. Some of the projects executed by Production Scope include Oscar-winning director Orlando Von Einseidel’s docu-drama ‘Into Dust’, Scott Burns’ TV series ‘Extrapolations’ for Apple TV+ and the Liam Neeson starrer - ‘Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky.’ On the home front, Production Scope recently completed ‘Pritam Pyare’ for Aamir Khan Productions, Netflix’s ‘Kaala Paani’ and the first season of Sony LIV’s ‘Charlie Chopra’.
